John Silva Blog

“Mr. Silva”. For most guys, this would be a way of addressing someone older. For me, this is how I most often view myself. Not as “Mr. Silva, old guy” but as “Mr. Silva, teacher”. It took some time to get used to being called Mr. Silva by my students but now I’m much more comfortable with it and I hold it close as I greatly enjoy my role as teacher, mentor, and older (maybe wiser) person.

I’m currently in my fifth year of teaching. I love my job and can’t imagine doing anything else right now. Getting to know young people as they prepare for their greatest adventure and journey of discovery is an amazing experience.
